A native of San Antonio, Texas, Chris will be entering his 5th year at Schreiner University, his 3rd as the Head Athletic Trainer. he also serves as a member on the Schreiner University NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Staff, is the Co-Chair of the Schreiner University Staff Council, is a member of the Athletics COVID-19 Action team, and SCAC Athletic Trainers Council. He was a part of the 2018 Schreiner Men’s Basketball SCAC conference championship, as well as being awarded the 2018-19 SCAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year.

 

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from University of the Incarnate Word in December 2014, as well his master’s in Sports Management degree in May 2017. While studying for his master’s degree, he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at UIW, with a primary sport assignment of football and tennis. He served as a clinical preceptor to athletic training students, as well as provide additional assisted coverage for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and baseball. He was a part of the UIW Football Sports Medicine staff to be awarded the 2017 Best of San Antonio Athletic Training Award.

 

In February 2016, Chris was given the opportunity to work with the Spurs Sports and Entertainment/Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio as a Contract Assistant Athletic Trainer for the San Antonio FC professional soccer team. While at SAFC, he coordinated doctor visits, assisted with game day/practice coverage, and perform functional testing for all athletes. In August 2016, he was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer of the San Antonio FC Pro Academy, with responsibilities of providing coverage for all competition/practice events, as well the direct contact for communicating with physicians through Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio. In August 2015, He served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Clear Falls High School in Houston, Texas

· UIW Women’s Soccer ID Camp (June 2015)
