Volleyball Defeats University of Dallas 3-2

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Volleyball team won their neutral site conference match against the University of Dallas 3-2.

The Mountaineers remained in Shreveport, Louisiana, for their neutral site Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) matchup against the Crusaders from the University of Dallas, hosted by Centenary College.

Schreiner officially pushed their winning streak to eight (longest in Schreiner Volleyball NCAA era) after taking down the University of Dallas in a close five-set match.

Schreiner opened the match with a 25-16 loss in set one, followed by a 25-21 win in set two, a 25-22 loss in set three, a 25-19 win in set four, and a 15-7 win in set five, taking the match 3-2 over the Crusaders.

Leading the offensive attack for the Mountaineers was freshman, Giana Hilliard, who finished with 14 kills on 46 total attacks (.217 K%). Also with a strong offensive performance was Haley Rodriguez who finished with 13 kills, Harlie Gallaspy who finished with 25 assists, and Mia Moreno who finished with 22 assists.

On the defensive end, it was sophomore, Jenna Palomarez, who steadied the ship for Schreiner as she tallied 24 digs.

Up next, the Mountaineers will remain in Shreveport, Louisiana, as they continue their conference (SCAC) play with a neutral site match against Austin College.
