Volleyball Defeats University of St. Thomas 3-1

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Volleyball team won their road neutral site conference match against the University of St. Thomas 3-1.

The Mountaineers remained in San Antonio, Texas, for their neutral site Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) matchup against the Celts from the University of St. Thomas, hosted by Trinity University.

Schreiner opened up the match on fire as they took the first two sets 25-22 and 25-13. However, the Celts bounced back in the third set as they kept the match alive and won the set 25-14. Fortunately, Schreiner took care of business in the fouth set, winning the set 25-16 and the match 3-1.

Leading the charge on offense for the Mountaineers was a committee of Taylor Braxton, Giana Hilliard, and Haley Rodriguez who all finished with 10 kills. Also with a strong offensive performance was setters Mia Moreno and Harlie Gallaspy who both finished with 18 assists.

On the defensive end, it was sophomore Jenna Palomarez who led the way again as she finished with 21 digs.
