Men's Basketball pulls away and defeats Trinity 74-67 to advance to SCAC Championship game

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- The Mountaineers defeated the Tigers in their semi-final game of the SCAC Championship. The team will compete in the Championship game for the second year in a row, Sunday at 1 PM CST!

Senior, Keenan Gumbs was the only student-athlete to earn a double-double and also had the most total points of the game with 19! Keenan had two early dunks to get the Mountaineers started. Teammate, Blake Kelley followed closely behind with 18 total points for the game. The Mountaineers started off strong and took the lead early, before going back and forth, and then finishing the game with the win! At half-time, the team was only up by 2, 37-35. 

The Mountaineers will play in the SCAC Championship game for the second year in a row, tomorrow at 1 PM CST when they take on Centenary College. If they win, this will be the team's first NCAA bid in program history.
