Damian Macias, a seasoned soccer coach with a wealth of international experience. Born in Florida and raised around the world as a military brat, Damian has a rich, global perspective on both life and sport. He pursued his college education at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) before continuing his academic journey with a Master of Science in Sports Management and Administration from Liberty University (2014) and a Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Science, specializing in Soccer Coaching, from Ohio University (2017).

Damian’s coaching career has been marked by impressive accomplishments at multiple institutions. Before joining Schreiner University in August 2023, he served as Associate Head Coach at the University of North Dakota and the University of Montana. From September 2020 to July 2022, he was the Head Coach at Missouri Western State University, where he led the team to a 23rd national ranking and secured a second-place finish in the MIAA. Additionally, he coached eight MIAA All-Conference players and achieved the highest national ranking in school history.

His tenure at the University of North Dakota was also notable, as he helped the team achieve its first-ever conference tournament qualification and the most wins in the DI era. Damian also mentored several standout players, including Summit League Offensive Player of the Year, Katie Moller, and Big Sky Goalkeeper of the Year, Cat Klein.

Damian’s experience extends beyond collegiate athletics; he has also served as Director for the Premier Boys and Girls programs at St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club, and as a high school coach at Boerne ISD, where he turned a struggling team into a state-contending powerhouse. His coaching philosophy is underpinned by a commitment to player development, teamwork, and excellence.

Certifications include NSCAA Premier Diploma, USSF B License, and a range of coaching credentials from top institutions in the sport. Damian is also the proud husband of Amy Macias, and together they have three children—Noah, Mason, and Mia—and several beloved dogs: Molly, Odin, and Bailey.

With his extensive coaching experience and passion for soccer, Damian is a key leader in the development of Schreiner University’s soccer program and its student-athletes.
