Coach Garnett, a passionate advocate for athletics and youth development, hails from Austin, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Concordia University, after first studying at Western Texas College.

With a solid background in coaching, Coach Garnett has dedicated several years to fostering student-athletes' growth. He served as the Head Middle & High School Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach at Hill Country Christian School of Austin from 2014 to 2020. Most recently, he was a Volunteer Assistant Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor during the 2021-2022 season.

Outside of his coaching career, Coach Garnett is a devoted father to his two sons, Aaron (9) and Jumal (5), and is also the proud owner of a 2-year-old German Shepherd named Milo. When he's not coaching or spending time with his family, he enjoys birdwatching, stargazing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Texas Longhorns and the Baltimore Ravens.
