KERRVILLE, TX: Drew Hermesmeyer of Schreiner University Men's Golf, a graduate student from Goldwaite, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Men's Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, October 18 through Tuesday, October 24.
Hermesmeyer earned medalist honors at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate, firing rounds of 73 and 64 for a two-day total of 137 (-5) to finish one shot ahead of his teammate Jake Sitterle as the duo also led the Mountaineers to the team title. It was the first career tournament win for the Incarnate Word transfer.
Hermesmeyer posted eight birdies and a single bogey en route to a final round 64 (-7), which was the low round of the tournament by three shots. His 10 total birdies also led the 52-player field.
