KERRVILLE, TX: Jenna Palomarez of Schreiner University Volleyball, a sophomore defensive specialist from Pearland, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 9 through Sunday, October 15.

Palomarez helped the Mountaineers secure a 4-0 weekend in San Antonio, which included huge victories over Texas Lutheran, St. Thomas and Southwestern going 3-0 in league play. Palomarez, who entered the weekend averaging 3.45 digs per set, came up huge, totaling 104 digs. She managed 87 digs in her team's three conference matches to average 6.21 per set. She had two matches with 30+ digs, including a season and career-best 35 in Friday's 3-2 victory over TLU. She also chipped in with seven service aces on the weekend.
