Women's Soccer Defeats Houston-Victoria 1-0

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Women's Soccer team won their road non-conference match against the University of Houston-Victoria 1-0.

The Mountaineers traveled to Victoria, Texas, for their non-conference matchup against the Jaguars from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Schreiner got off to a quick start as they took an early lead in the thirteenth minute of play off an unassisted goal from senior midfielder, Natalee Talley, her first of the season.

After the remaining 32 minutes of the first half played out, the Mountaineers went into halftime still holding on to their 1-0 lead over the Jaguars.

The second half of play showcased a strong defensive effort by Schreiner as they controlled time of possession and protected their lead until the final buzzer sounded, bringing the match to a conclusion with a final score of 1-0 in favor of the Mountaineers.

The win for Schreiner Women's Soccer marked their first of the season, as they now look to stay hot as they enter SCAC play.
