Shotgun Competes at NCSSAA South Central Regionals

KERRVILLE, TX: This weekend Schreiner Shotgun Sports traveled to Waco, TX to compete in the first NCSSAA South Central Regional tournament.

There was a very competitive field made up of 132 athletes from 11 different schools. In the Team HOA event, the Mountaineers narrowly pulled off the victory in the final event by 4 targets with a final score of 1430. Team members included senior's Jacob Cameron and Will Perry, freshmen Brandon Martin, Wes Roddie and AJ Bovee. Other team awards include 1st place in the Sporting event with a 476/500 (Seniors Jacob Cameron and Will Perry, freshmen Brandon Martin, Nick Welch, and Sidney Coffin). 1st Place American Trap with a 491/500 (Seniors Logan Arrington, Jacob Cameron and Will Perry, freshmen AJ Bovee and Clint Brown).

The Mountaineers also came home with quite a few individual awards.

Men's High Over All: Jacob Cameron 1st (293/300), Will Perry 2nd (292/300) Women's High Over All: Sidney Coffin 2nd (273/300)

American Trap: Men's: Jacob Cameron (99) 1st place after shoot-off, Logan Arrington (99) 4th place after shoot-off Women's: Sidney Coffin (95) 2nd place after shoot-off, freshmen Emma Roberts (95) 4th after shoot-off

American Skeet: Men's Skeet: 7 person shoot off for 3rd place with 98/100, 3 Mountaineers, Will Perry, Wes Roddie and Brandon Martin. Perry was close but ended up 4th. Women's Skeet: freshmen Katelyn Edgar (96/100) 2nd place after shoot-off

Sporting Clays: Men's: Jacob Cameron (98/100) 1st Place, Will Perry (97/100) 3rd Place after shoot-off Women's: Sidney Coffin (93/100) 1st Place
