Baseball Goes 2-1 Against University of Dallas

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Baseball team went 2-1 in their three game conference series against the University of Dallas this weekend 3-4; 22-5; 23-7.

The Mountaineers were on fire this weekend as they put up a combined 48 runs throughout their three game conference series with the Crusaders.

In their first game of the series, the Mountaineers fell to the University of Dallas 3-4.

Leading the way on offense in this one was Gerardo Cardoza who went 3-4 at the plate and recorded 2 RBIs.

In their second game of the series, the Mountaineers defeated the University of Dallas 22-5.

Leading the way on offense for Schreiner was Dominick Garcia who went 3-4 at the plate and recorded a Home Run and 4 RBIs. Also with a strong hitting performance was Jet Muniz who recorded a Home Run, a Double, and 5 RBIs.

On the defensive side, it was Fito Mendez who lead the way on the mound as he pitched 6 complete innings and only gave up 8 hits on 26 batters faced, picking up his 4th win of the season.

In their third game of the series, the Mountaineers defeated the Crusaders 23-7.

Leading the offensive charge in this one was Gerardo Cardoza who went 3-6 at the plate and recorded a Double and 5 RBIs, also with strong hitting perfomances was the entire Schreiner lineup as 7 Mountaineers' recorded doubles, and 2 more recorded Home Runs.

On the defensive side, it was Justing Gallegos who got the win on the mound, his second of the season.
