KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Basketball team's Kamden Ross has been named SCAC Player of the Week.

"Kamden Ross of Schreiner University, a first-year forward from Cibolo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 10 through Sunday, January 16.

Ross led the Mountaineers to a fifth-straight win last week, recording his fifth double-double of the season in a 64-60 home victory over Texas Lutheran, pouring in 19 points and grabbing a season-high 15 boards, including eight offensive rebounds. His performance marked the fifth time in the last six games he has been in double-figures for scoring and the third time this year he has reached the 15-point plateau. Ross connected on an outstanding 72.7 percent shooting from the field (8-for-11) including the go-ahead bucket with five seconds left to lift Schreiner to victory. He is the first Mountaineer to record at least 19 points and 15 rebounds since Matthew Rindahl accomplished the feat back in January 2020. Ross also finished the game with two blocks, steals, and assists."
