Men's Basketball Pushes Winning Streak to Four

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Basketball team got their fourth win in a row this evening after defeating Southwestern University 77-70.

The Mountaineers are rolling! After another strong showing, the Schreiner University Men's Basketball team has now pushed their win streak to four after defeating the Pirates from Southwestern University once again. This time, the game was a little bit closer. After the game was tied with just five minutes left to play, the Mountaineers buckled down defensively and ultimately came away with the victory. A couple of big time clutch free throws from freshman Dylan Mackey in the final minute pushed the game just out of reach for Southwestern and put an end to any comeback plans that might have been building.

Leading the way for Schreiner was freshman big man Kamden Ross who played an incredible first half and ended up finishing with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Also contributing was Darian Gibson who also finished with a double-double (10 PTS, 10 REB), Alex Dehoyos (13 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST), Bronson Evans (8 PTS, 8 REB), and Jackson Reid (11 PTS, 3 three-pointers).

Up next, the Mountaineers will look to push the winning streak to five as they take on Texas Lutheran University here at home in Kerrville.
