Cross Country Competes At Bill Libby Invitational

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Abilene, Texas, this past weekend to run in the Bill Libby Invitational hosted by McMurry University.

The Mountaineers had another strong race in this one, as they have continued to improve as the season has progressed. The Men's team finished 8th out of the 13 teams competing and were lead by Tristan Salinas who finished with a time of 28:37. Joining Salinas were teammates Marco Hernandez (29:05) and Daniel Zepeda (29:43). This was the first time in school history that the Mounaineers had three runners finnish with 8k times under 30:00!

The Women's team finished 5th out of the 11 schools that competed and were once again lead by Sarah Endres. Endres finished 4th overall and recorded a new school record with a 6k time of 24:13. Joining Endres with solid finishes was Kelsey Bishop (29:10) Fatima Rodriquez (29:44).

Up next, the Mountaineers will host a dual meet here on the campus of Schreiner University.
