Cross Country Competes at Concordia Classic

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's and Women's Cross Country team traveled to Austin, TX this weekend to compete in the Concordia Classic, hosted by Concordia University.

The Men's Cross Country team finished in 11th place out of the 16 teams competing, and 8th out of the 10 Division III teams that competed (beating Sul Ross and UMHB). The Mountaineers were lead by Tristan Salinas who finished with a time of 29:07 in the 8K. Joining Salinas was Colten Cooper, who cut his time by 5:57 and also earned points for Schreiner. As a team, the Mountaineers cut their average by a time of 2:51. This was another great showing by the Schreiner Men's team in just their second event of the season.

The Women's Cross Country team finished in 7th place out of the 16 teams competing, and 5th out of the 10 Division III schools that competed. The Schreiner Women's team was once again lead by Sarah Endres who finished with a time of 25:35 in the 6K.Also aiding the Mountaineers was Breena Garcia, who cut her time by 5:54. As a team, The Schreiner Women's team cut their average by a time of 2:51. This was a great showing by the Mountaineers in an event that was highly competitive and included some big time Division I programs (University of Texas).
