Schreiner University Fan Policy Update

KERRVILLE, TX: Schreiner University will begin to allow spectators, on a limited basis, for the remaining outdoor athletic events this spring. This change only effects the home team as no visiting spectators will be admitted. There will be protocols in place at every outdoor venue and strict compliance with those protocols will be expected. To ensure a manageable game day experience, the following items will be in place:

  • New Spectator Policy will go into effect March 26th for the Sports of MW Tennis, MW Soccer, Softball and Baseball. Indoor Sport of Volleyball will remain with No spectators allowed.
  • All venues and competitions will remain closed to all visiting team fans, parents, and families.
  • Faculty, Staff and Students from Schreiner will be allowed to attend home contests. They will need to show a valid Schreiner ID to be admitted to the event.
  • Every Schreiner athlete listed on the game day roster (those eligible to participate in the contest) will be allowed 4 guests for the contest. Only those spectators on the final list which will be compiled by the end of business the day before the contest will be allowed to enter the facility.
  • Spectators will check in at the designated spectator entrance for each venue: Soccer: Edington gate: opposite the team benches (park in tennis court lot), baseball and softball: entrance to gated area of the stands behind press box, MW Tennis: entrance opposite MFC on campus side of tennis courts (park in tennis court lot).
  • ALL Spectators will be required to wear masks while they are in the venue. Spectators will be encouraged to sit with their group and social distance from others.
  • There will be no contact between the spectators and any student-athletes and at the conclusion of the contest, all spectators will be expected to exit the venue.
  • Each venue will have designated seating area for guests and there are no exceptions to not being in that designated area.
  • Gates will open ½ hour before the start of the contest and spectators are expected to leave the venue immediately after the conclusion of the contest.
  • Spectators will check in at the entrance gate where they will give the name of the student, show picture ID, be temperature and symptom checked and receive a stamp to ID them as confirmed for admittance.
  • Policy applies to all remaining contests except for the SCAC Softball Championship. Details on that event will be forthcoming.
