KERRVILLE, TX: Over the weekend, Shotgun competed in their first competition of the year, the ACUI Lower Mid-West Conference Championship. The Mountaineers competed in three different events, Sporting Clays, American Skeet and American Trap. Saturday started with sporting clays, the team ended up 3rd after a tiebreaker with a 478/500 scores posted by Jacob Cameron (96), Grady Reynolds (96), Jacob Follmer (95), Cory Hays (93) and Brandon Miller (93). Saturday afternoon the team got to battle the wind on the skeet field. Team score of 478/500 scores posted by Jacob Cameron (98), Jacob Follmer (96), Colton Back (95), Will Perry (95) and Carma Cloudt (94). Sunday was a short day with only American Trap and the Mountaineers came back very strong posting a team score of 495/500 which brought home 2nd place. Two perfect Scores posted by Jacob Cameron (100) and Colt McBee (100) who ended up Men's Trap Champion after a shoot-off, followed by Colton Gutermuth (99), Grady Reynolds (98) and Nathan Ricks (98).
On the weekend the Mountaineers fought back to end up 3rd with a 1444/1500 and Jacob Cameron ended up 2nd HOA with a 294/300.
