Schreiner Athletics Recognizes Men's Tennis Seniors

KERRVILLE, TX: With the season for our spring sports coming to end earlier than expected, Schreiner Athletics wanted to recognize the seniors for each of these sports.

A statement from Director of Athletics Bill Raleigh:

"As all of us deal with this unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic, Schreiner Athletics wanted to recognize the Seniors from our Spring Sports. All these athletes handled themselves with grace and dignity as the announcement came down to originally suspend then cancel the remainder of the Spring Season.  They have been great representatives of Schreiner University and the athletic program. We are very proud of these fine student-athletes and wish them the best as they graduate and head out to conquer their next challenge.

Thank you for all your hard work!"

We continue our senior recognitions with our Men's Tennis program's three seniors. Here is what Head Coach Jacob Carrillo had to say about Matthew Jimenez, Luis Cabreja, and Christopher Corbett:

Matthew Jimenez | Humble, TX

"Matthew was a four-year letterman for the Men Tennis Program. I owe a big thanks to Matt for his leadership and great character on and off the court. Matt's game improved a lot this year, and he was a tremendous competitor. We wish him nothing but the best!"

Luis Cabreja | Houston, TX

"Luis is a four-year letterman for the Men's Tennis Program. He was a great captain and was the vocal leader of the team. His all-around court game improved and he was a steadying presence in the lineup. We want to wish Luis the best."

Christopher Corbett | Dripping Springs, TX

"Chris was a three-year letterman for the Schreiner Mountaineers. Chris was recognized as an SCAC Character and Community Athlete of the week. Chris was a great captain, team leader and brought so much to the team. Good luck Chris, you will be missed."
