Cody Zwernemann was added to the coaching staff on Jun. 2, 2025 as an Assistant Coach, Offensive Line. In 2024, Coach Zwernemann spent one season at Cypress Woods High School as offensive line coach. The Wildcats had the best start in school history in 2024 finishing the year at 8-3. From 2022-2023 Coach Zwernemann coached the offensive line at his alma mater, Giddings High School, where they made the playoffs both years. 2020-2022, Coach Zwernemann was a Quality control coach at Houston Christian University, working directly with their offensive line. Prior to joining the HCU staff, Coach Zwernemann was an assistant coach working with running backs at Southwestern University from 2018-2020. Both seasons the Pirates had top-tier rushing attacks, ranking top 30 in the country both years.
In 2017, Coach Zwernemann was at UMHB as Academic Coordinator and Asst. Recruiting coordinator. That year the Crusaders were conference champions and national finalists. 2014-2017 Coach Zwernemann was a student assistant working with receivers at Sam Houston State University. Both seasons the Bearkats made the playoffs and were statistical leaders behind 2-time Walter Peyton award winner Jeremiah Briscoe.
A Giddings, Texas native, Zwernemann played at Giddings High School. Zwernemann and his wife, Kimberly, have one daughter, Collins, and a son Lawson.
Cypress Woods (2024)
In 2024, Cy Woods had the best start to football in school history. They led the district in offense with 4,040 yards. Through the air, the Wildcats threw for over 2,000 yards and 27 TD's. In 11 games, the Wildcats only gave up 6 sacks. They also produced all district guard Kaleb Adams.
Giddings (2022-2023)
From 22-23, the buffs put out impressive numbers and players alike. In 2022 the Buffs gave up only 4 sacks in 10 games. They also produced first-team all-district guard Jusiah Sampleton and honorable mention Tackle Jay Raz. In 2023, again, the Buffs only gave up 4 sacks and rushed for over 2200 yards. Runningback Bryson Mcdaniel rushed for 1500 yards. That year, the Buffs produced 1st team all-district guard Tyler Davis, and 2nd team all-district tackle Jay Raz.
Houston Christian (2020-2022)
Out of the teams that played in the Fall of 2020, HCU had some of the best numbers in the country. With 4 games being played, 3 of which were against FBS opponents, that was no easy feat. The Huskies were 1st in the nation in passing offense, 2nd in scoring offense and 1st in passing efficiency. They also averaged 547.5 yards of offense per game. Bailey Zappe also acquired Conference player of the year honors and Center Christian Hood was an all-conference selection. The Huskies also produced CFL draft pick Edouard Paradis.
Southwestern University (2018-2020)
In 2018, the Pirates had the number 24 Rushing offense in the country and number 26 in 2019.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor (2017)
In 2017, UMHB were conference champions and national finalists.
Sam Houston State University (2014-2017)
In 2015, SHSU advanced to the FCS semifinal round in the playoffs. In 2016 they were conference champions and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. They led the nation in total offense and were 2nd in passing offense. They were also the only undefeated regular season team in the FCS that year.
