Softball Drops Series Against Southwestern University

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Softball team lost all three of their road conference games against Southwestern University; 11-10, 6-4, 12-4.

The Mountaineers were on the road for their three-game SCAC matchup against the Pirates from Southwestern University.

GAME 1 (SCH 10 - SWU 11)

The Mountaineers opened up the series with a nail-biter. After trailing for the majority of the game, a strong 6th inning push by Schreiner gave them a two run lead heading into the bottom of the inning. However, the Pirates would respond with two runs of their own to tie the game up, and then added on the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Despite the loss, it was another strong hitting performance by senior, Danielle Pedraza, who went 2-5 at the plate with a Double, 3 RBI, and a Home Run. The Home Run by Pedraza marked her 7th of the season and now leaves her just three away from tying the single-season Home Run record (10).

In the circle, it was Kaedyn Filburn who would be credited with the loss, moving her season record to 1-4.
