KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Women's Wrestling team traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado, to compete in the NCWWC Region 5 Tournament, hosted by Colorado Mesa University.
It was an exciting and emotional weekend for the Mountaineers. They showed up and wrestled hard and the accumulation of the season could be seen in their matches. The whole story can't be seen in the points but they walked away with 4 qualifiers for the National tournament coming up in 2 weeks. The Mountaineers also had 5 more making the podium, placing 5th out of 9 Universities, with 90.5 points, and were the 2nd top Division III team in the tournament.
Both Odelia Lopez and Allicia Mahoe placed 3rd, while Jordan Johnston and Victoria Craft placed 4th. They will be representing the Schreiner University Women's Wrestling team at Nationals.
