KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Softball team lost both games of their road double-header against McMurry University 5-2, 5-4.
The Mountaineers traveled to Abilene, Texas, for their road double-header against the Warhawks from McMurry University.
Game 1 (SCH 2 - MCM 5)
In the first game of the double-header, the Mountaineers struggled to put runs on the scoreboard until the top of the 5th inning when a triple from Malorie Solis sent Ashley Schaub home to score. Following that, in the top of the 6th inning, a solo Home Run from Hannah Kollmansberger brought Schreiner's run total to 2. However, the scoring effort would come to late for the Mountainers as the Warhawks scored 3 runs in 4th inning and 2 runs in the 5th, ultimately leading to a final score of 5-2 in favor of McMurry University.
Game 2 (SCH 4 - MCM 5)
In the second game of the double-header, the McMurry Warhawks would once again be the first to put runs on the scoreboard, scoring 2 runs in the 2nd inning and 1 run in the 3rd inning. However, Schreiner would respond with 4 runs scored in the 4th inning from an RBI from Malorie Solis, 2 RBI from Kendall Lippold, and an RBI from Yadira Lopez. Unfortunately, the Warhawks would answer with 2 more runs scored in the bottom of the 4th inning to re-take the lead 5-4, a lead that would hold for the remainder of the game.
