KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Women's Basketball team won their road game against St. Mary's University 66-62.
The Mountaineers traveled to San Antonio, Texas, and pulled off the upset over NCAA Division II opponent, St. Mary's University.
In what was a very close game throughout that saw each quarter end with a point differential of only five points at the most, it was Schreiner who would land the final punch and come away with the win.
Sophomores, Elisa Peralta and Demauria Miles, kept the Mountaineers in the game with their high volume scoring throughout. However, it was returning senior, Josline Hernandez, who came up huge down the stretch, securing key steals and hitting her free throws.
This would be the first win over a NCAA Division II opponent under second year Head Coach, Stacy Stephens.
