KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Wrestling team traveled to Springfield, Missouri, to compete in the Drury Open.
Jayden Bustillos leads the pack this week going 3-2 at a very tough open hosting DIs, DIIs, and JUCOs. He finished out in 4th place after a close loss to a DII All-American and Northeastern Oklahoma.
Robert Hernandez finished out as a consolation finalist losing only to a DII All-American and DI, Oklahoma, but picking up a pin over Carl Alberts State College, avenging a previous loss, and beating DI, Lindenwood.
Another stand out was Levi Slaydon going 2-2 and making it to the consolation finals, just falling short to Central Methodist.
Honorable mention, Holden Soares going 2-2 at 149 and getting wins over Central Methodist and Northeastern Oklahoma.
