KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Tennis team traveled to Abilene, Texas, to compete in the ITA Southwest Regionals.
Carson Kirk competed in the A Draw winning his first round against UMHB 6-2, 6-1 and his second round against LETU 6-4, 6-4. Kirk would lose in the round of 16 to the #1 seed Trinity.
Dennis Miller competed in the B Draw and would not drop a set until the final. Miller would go on and win the B Draw beating ETBU 6-4, 4-6, 1-0(5). Max Schechter also competed in the B Draw making it to quarterfinals before losing to ETBU 6-1, 6-4.
Andrew Reyes competed in the C Draw winning his first round against the #2 seed UMHB 6-4, 5-7, 1-0(8). Reyes would make it to the final before falling to MCM 7-5, 6-2. Cole Reed also competed in the C Draw losing his first round to HPU 6-4, 7-5. Reed would then win the consolation draw against MCM 6-0, 6-4.
Jackson Pogue competed in the D Draw and would win three straight matches making it to the finals before falling to TLU 6-4, 6-1.
Kirk/Cervantes would compete in A Draw Doubles and would make it the round of 16 before falling to Southwestern 8-4. Miller/Schechter would compete in B Draw Doubles and would win three straight matches making it the semifinals before losing to ETBU 8-4. J. Barragan/Pogue would compete in C Draw Doubles and would win all three matches winning the final against HPU 8-1.
