KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Volleyball team won their conference match against Centenary College this afternoon 3-2.
It was a close back and forth match between the Mountaineers and the Ladies this afternoon as it took 5 sets to finally declare a winner. However, it was Schreiner who would end up on top, winning the match 3-2.
Leading the effort for the Mountaineers was senior, Brooke Byer, who finished with an impressive team high in kills (19) and digs (31). Also with a strong performance was junior, Mia Moreno, who finished with a team high 39 assist.
After the win today, the Mountaineers move to 2-1 in conference play and 6-7 overall.
Something to watch for the Schreiner Volleyball team as they return home to take on McMurry University on Wednesday is senior, Kayla Lofland, who now sits just 5 kills away from recording 1,000 total career kills.
