Men's Soccer Defeats Sul Ross State 5-2

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Soccer team defeated Sul Ross State University this afternoon 5-2.

It was a great day out on the Mountaineer Soccer Field this afternoon as Schreiner cruised past the Lobos from Sul Ross State University in route to a 5-2 victory. The Mountaineers dominated possesion of the ball throughout in this one as they took an early lead and refused to give it up for the remainder of the match. The five goals scored by Schreiner was the first time they've recorded such an accomplishment since 2015.

The main standout for the Mountaineers was none other than junior Midfielder, Noah Boggus. Boggus was all over the field today as he recorded the rare hat trick for Schreiner, scoring three goals on the day. Not only was this the first hat trick of Boggus' collegiate career, but it was also only the second time that a hat trick was recorded by a Schreiner player since joining the SCAC (2013).

Also with a notable performance was Cameron Armer and Travis Matthews. The freshmen duo of Armer and Matthews both recorded their first collegiate goals today, with Matthews' goal literally finding the net as the clock hit zero.

Up next, the Mountaineers will hit the road as they are set to take on LeTourneau University on September 23rd, at 8:00 PM.
