KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men's Soccer team lost their match this evening to Texas A&M University-San Antonio 1-3.
It was a hard fought match out in Kerrville, Texas, this afternoon as the Mountaineers played strong, but ulitmately fell to the Jaguars 1-3. An early Penalty Kick by TAMU-SA put the Jaguars on the board first, but the Mountaineers quickly bounced back with strong defensive play for the remainder of the first half. Then, as the second half wound down, TAMU-SA saw another goal hit the back of the net off of a follow up of an initial spectacular save by #30 Kameryn Roehrig. However, the Mountaineers weren't done yet, in the 81st minute, sophomore Midfielder, Manny Coya, put a beautiful touch on the ball to score his first career goal. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be enough as the Jaguars came back and scored one more to finish the game 1-3 in favor of TAMU-SA.
Up next, the Mountaineers will remain at home as they take on Concordia University on September 11th, at 2:00 PM.
