KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Volleyball team defeated Saint Joseph's College this afternoon 3-0.
The Mountaineers opened up their weekend roadtrip with a dominant 3-0 sweep over the Monks from Saint Joseph's. Schreiner took Set 1 with great team play, taking the set 25-9. In the following set, it was a similar story as the Mountaineers continued their strong play with a 25-15 win. Finally, the third set was a close back and forth, but Schreiner still prevailed, taking the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
The solid all-around team play showed through on the box score as the Mountaineers finished with 27 total kills on 88 total attacks (.193 K%) with 5 Mountaineers finishing with 3+ kills. Leading the pack was senior, Kayla Lofland, who recorded 4 kills on 7 total attacks.
Up next, Schreiner will jump right back into action as they take on Simpson College this evening at 6:00 PM.
