The Mountaineers are starting the season 0-2 after Hendrix defeated the team 3-0 and then Schreiner fell to Millsaps 1-3 in the first day of the Austin College Classic.

Against Hendrix, the set scores were 14-25, 14-25, and 8-25.

The Mountaineers played their second game of the night against Millsaps and took the first set 25-22 before falling to the Majors 19-25, 12-25, and 15-25.

The team will play again on Saturday at 9 AM against Hardin-Simmons and then at 1 PM against Louisiana College in the final day of the Austin College Classic in Sherman, Texas.
