Mountaineers Sweep Weekend at Home After 61-50 Win Against JWU

KERRVILLE, TX: The Women's Basketball team hosted Johnson & Wales for a conference game on Saturday afternoon. Schreiner defeated the Wildcats 61-50 to improve to 3-4 in the SCAC.

SCORING: For the second game in a row, sophomore, Sydney Williams contributed 24 points for the Mountaineers, which is her current career-high, and with 11 rebounds, she was the only student-athlete in the game to get a double-double. Freshman, Gabby Ivarra was just shy of earning a double-double with adding nine points and having nine rebounds. Freshman, Josline Hernandez also contributed 13 points for the Mountaineers. Schreiner went 41% from the field and shot 27% from three-point range. The Mountaineers are now 3-13 this season and improved to 3-4 in the SCAC.

UP NEXT: The Mountaineers will be on the road this weekend and will face Austin College on Friday at 6:00 PM and will finish their weekend against Centenary on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
