KERRVILLE, TEXAS: The Mountaineers hosted East Texas Baptist University on Saturday afternoon for their season opener. The Tigers won 86-43 against Schreiner.

SCORING: Schreiner was in the lead for the first four minutes of the game. Sophomore Sydney Williams had ten points for the Mountaineers, and Kendall Dyal was close behind with nine. The Mountaineers pushed the Tigers to turn the ball over 25 times in the game. Schreiner shot 24% from the field, was 4-16 from three-point range, and 11-21 in for free-throws. 

In an interview with Head Coach Sam Davidson: "We got to see what playing a great team looks like today and it was a good experience for our young team. We pushed a great team to turn the ball over 25 times. Our team played with a really good intensity today"
