SHERMAN, TX: The Mountaineer Softball team opened up SCAC play with a 12-3 (5 inn.) win over Austin College on Friday night in Sherman. Freshman Taci Tatum (2-2) and junior Courtney Bigley (2-3) each drove in 3 runs. The top of the order came through for the Mountaineers as Bri Wodtke, Malorie Solis, Mackenzie Oltmann, followed by Tatum each had two hits in the win. Senior pitcher Hannah Ortiz threw a complete game win to earn her second of the year, giving up 3 hits and striking out 6 batters.
