Rachel Brown Earns SCAC Softball Player of the Week

RACHEL BROWN OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore catcher from Willis, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, February 18th through Sunday, February 24th.

Brown led the way at the plate for the Mountaineers as Schreiner split a twin bill against Concordia last Wednesday. Brown posted a .667 batting average (4-for-6) with one run scored, two RBI, one double, six total bases and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outfielder Kelly Jurden of Texas Lutheran hit .500 over two games (both losses) against Houston-Victoria. Jurden had four hits in six at-bats in the second game, a 9-7 loss in 10 innings. Jurden had three steals in the extra-inning game and another in the 1-0 loss.
