Coach Kendall Luy was named the Head Track & Field Coach and Assistant Coach for Cross Country for Schreiner University in November of 2017. Schreiner University had student-athletes compete in two meets in the 2018 Spring season. 

Luy spent nine years at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland prior to coming to Schreiner. She worked primarily with the throwing events, but spent time helping with the sprints, jumps and hurdles, as well as assisting with the cross country teams. During her tenure at Frostburg State she coached an NCAA Division III National Runner-up in the men’s shot put, a Penn Relays champion, 5 NCAA Division III qualifiers, 21 ECAC qualifiers, 2 ECAC champions, 2 ECAC runner-ups, 12 Capital Athletic Conference champions, and 11 Capital Athletic Conference runner-ups. In her 9 years as the throws coach she saw many records broken: 4 school records, 2 Capital Athletic Conference Championship meet records, and 2 Capital Athletic Conference overall records. She helped the 2009 women’s team to a Mason-Dixon Conference Outdoor championship and a 9th place finish at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She was also a part of the coaching staff that helped guide the 2012 men’s team to a runner-up finish at the inaugural Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

While at Frostburg State, Luy also played an integral part in the academic monitoring of the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams, along with the recruitment of student-athletes for all teams. All the teams doubled in size during her time recruiting. She has experience hosting cross country and track & field meets, having helped organize conference championships in both sports.

Prior to Frostburg State, Luy was a four-year team member for the track & field team at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. Her primary event was the javelin and she provisionally qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in that event. She also participated in the sprints, relays, and shot put. She was a four-year Dean’s List Scholarship recipient and a Presidential Fellow. She graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. In 2011, Luy graduated from Frostburg State University with a master’s degree in counseling psychology.
