Men's Basketball Finishes with Close Loss to Southwestern Pirates

GEORGETOWN, TX: The Men's Basketball team fell to the Southwestern Pirates 65-68 in Georgetown, Texas on Friday evening during a conference game. 

SCORING: Sophomore guard, Andrew Sparks was the leading scorer for Schreiner with a career-high 15 points. Matthew Rindahl had the only double-double in the game adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ellis Jones contributed 11 points for the Mountaineers. Junior, Paul Wells was the leading rebounder for the game with 11, and also added seven points. Schreiner outshot the Pirates from three-point range with at 35%, almost 10% higher than Southwestern. The Mountaineers managed to hit slightly higher from the field with 22-56 compared to the Pirate's 20-52. The Mountaineers are now 5-8 this season and are 1-3 in the SCAC.

UP NEXT: The Mountaineers will host Texas Lutheran on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:30 PM. This will be the second time this season that the Mountaineers will face the Bulldogs.
