HOUSTON, TX: The Mountaineer Baseball team had hot bats on Saturday as they swept the day beating Minnesota-Morris 14-7 and St. Thomas (Tex.) 15-11.

In Game One against Minnesota-Morris, the Mountaineers scored 11 runs in the first 4 innings behing strong performances at the plate from Josh Gilliam, Devin Hooper, Chance Goins, and Miguel Quinones all having a multi-hit game. Hooper got the win on the mound going five innings and striking out six.

The bats stayed hot in Game Two against St. Thomas scoring 9 runs in the first two innings. Sam Valezquez, Ernest Ortiz, Josh Gilliam all had two hits in the game while Devin Hooper, Chance Goins and Dominick Garcia each contributed three hits. Garrett Whitley picked up the win going five innings and striking out four.
