Fitz and Morgan Named to 2018 All SCAC Second Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Two members of the Schreiner University Mountaineers Women's Soccer Team were named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) All-Conference Team this season. Seniors, Lindsey Fitz and Cailee Morgan were both named to the Second Team, and freshman, Marissa Wheeler was named Honorable Mention. 

Both Fitz and Morgan have started all 16 games for the Mountaineers this season, and they have each scored five goals on the season. To see more stats for Lindsey, click here and for more stats on Cailee Morgan, click here.

Kristen Canepa, from Trinity was named the 2018 SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. Canepa received four votes from the coaches in the Defensive Player-of-the-Year balloting while junior defender Romie Reyna of Southwestern and senior defender Lindsey Fitz of Schreiner received two firstplace votes each.

Note: Coaches voted for first team and second team – with each voted team consisting of three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, one goalkeeper and one at-large selection. A first-team vote was worth two points and a second-team vote was worth one point. Any player who received at least two different votes from the coaches, but did not receive enough votes to earn either first or second team honors, was named Honorable Mention. Coaches could not vote for their own players.
