Chris Ramos Announced as Head Athletic Trainer

KERRVILLE, TX - Director of Athletics at Schreiner University, Bill Raleigh announced that Chris Ramos will be the Head Athletic Trainer for Schreiner University effective August 1, 2019. 

Chris has been the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Schreiner University for the past two years. He joined the Mountaineer Community after completing his Master's degree.  He is originally from San Antonio where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training and Masters of Science in Sports Management from the University of the Incarnate Word. During his time at UIW he worked primarily with Football, Golf, and Tennis.

Prior to earning his Master's degree, he spent one year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer with San Antonio FC during their inaugural season in the United Soccer League. During his time with SAFC he was also named the Head Athletic Trainer for the San Antonio FC Youth Academy, in in which SAFC coaches brought up young athletes from ages 12-20 to show them the work ethic and skill required to become a MLS player.

Having been on our campus as a member of our Athletic Training staff for a couple of years, Chris will continue the excellent care for our student-athletes as well as take our program to a new level as we expand our sport offerings. He is an excellent athletic trainer and valuable member of our department," said Raleigh.

"After being at Schreiner as the Assistant Athletic Trainer, I'm looking forward to building on the foundation that we have established and further strengthening our health care, the mentorship of our student-athletes, and our athletic training program as a whole."
